The only place to download any type of updates for a Mac are from Software Update, otherwise you will run into issues such as the one you just experienced. I have an IMAC running Windows 7 64 bit through boot camp. Although ML doesnt allow XP in Bootcamp, I've found a workaround :) Now, I'm thinking about switching XP to Server 2003 64-bit.

To remedy this, I tried to install the latest nvidia 8800gs driver from their website.
The bootcamp nvidia drivers are fine, but I have recently been getting the general protection fault when playing mass effect - causing it to crash fairly often.
Nothing else happens, cryostasis.exe does not even show up in task manager. Pretty happy with it (pumped up with 8 GB RAM and OCZ SSD). The only problem I am having, however, is when I try and update my nvidia drivers. The symptom: Steam states that game is launching setup for the 1st time in small window and it disappears. I just purchased Cryostasis through Steam and discovered that the game simply will not start no matter what compatibility mode I set it to.
